How do you celebrate Halloween? Or do you celebrate?
It's incredible that so many different cultures have celebrations around October 31st, starting with the Celts and then several of their traditions being absorbed into Roman holidays and later Christian too.
An aspect I truly love is that throughout the traditions individuals were paying respect for the dead, and trying to foretell the future of those around them, some women would try to predict their husbands as part of their Halloween traditions!
In several cultures it was tradition to share food or treats with the poor, to pray for deceased family members and/or leave food outside to keep spirits away which evolved into children in neighborhoods going door to door.
So often we forget to honor and learn from those who came before us while we strive to understand our future.
What lessons have you taken the time to learn and own?
How do you celebrate the day?
